What was LUZ QUE ALIVIA created for?

In Puerto Rico, power outages are frequent, and for many people, especially seniors, finding the right medicine in the dark can be a dangerous challenge.

That's why we created
LUZ QUE ALIVIA, the first system of glow-in-the-dark labels that makes it easy to identify essential medications when everything goes dark.

WITH GLOW-IN-THE-DARK LABELS:

1

Medication errors decrease:

Glow-in-the-dark labels help clearly identify each medication, even in total darkness for up to 6 hours.

2

We protect the most vulnerable:

Designed with our seniors in mind.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1

How long do I need to expose the medicine bottle label to natural or artificial light?

It depends not only on the type of light, or the time, but also on the intensity of the light. The greater the light intensity, the shorter the time required, and vice versa. It is sufficient to place the labels under intense light for one hour to reach the maximum level of light absorption.

2

How long does the label glow last?

The medicine labels glow for six hours. After that time, the glow gradually diminishes.

3

Does it charge better with natural light or artificial light?

There is no difference between the type of light (natural or artificial). Place your medications in a place with natural or artificial light, such as the kitchen, dining room, or nightstand, so that the label can charge correctly. Do not put the medications in direct sunlight, as it can damage them.

4

Can I charge it with a cell phone flashlight or other artificial light source, and how much time would it take if I forgot to charge it?

Yes, it is possible to charge the labels using a cell phone flashlight. The source is not the main factor, but the charging time.

5

Can I clean the label without damaging or affecting its effect?

The base of the labels is made of paper material. Dry cleaning is recommended.

6

How does temperature affect the label? Is the label's glow affected by extreme temperatures, such as intense heat or cold?

The technical specifications of the base material (paper) indicate that the labels should be applied to containers in conditions of at least 41°F. After applying the label and keeping it at room temperature (around 68–72°F) for 1 hour, the label can be used in this temperature range: from -4°F to +176°F. The labels work well in cold or hot places, but not on medications that must be stored in the refrigerator.

7

What should I do if the label does not glow enough?

If the label is clean and not damaged, put it under light again to recharge it. If it still does not glow, you can go to your pharmacy where you were given the medication to change the label. If you received your medication through Alivia Home Delivery call 1-833-920-2555.

8

Is the label safe to use?

The manufacturers of all materials used to produce this label indicate that there are no risks in touching these materials. The labels are safe, non-toxic, and glow in the dark.

9

Can I expose the label to water or moisture? Will the label still work if it gets wet or if it is exposed to humid environments, such as the bathroom, refrigerator, freezer, or if it gets accidentally wet?

The technical specifications of the base material (paper) indicate that the material should be stored in humidity conditions of 40-50%. There are no special recommendations or restrictions for the phosphorescent varnish or other inks.

10

Can the label accidentally peel off?

If the medication container is used in normal dry home conditions, the label will not peel off.

11

What should I do if the label is damaged, scratched, or stops glowing completely?

If it is broken, scratched, or has stopped glowing completely, you can ask for a new one at the Pharmacy where you were given the medication. If you received your medication through Alivia Home Delivery call 1-833-920-2555.

12

Where can I get this label?

14

Does this have an additional cost?
